Contributions may be eligible for a municipal election campaign contribution rebate under the Municipal Elections Act. While 100% of your donation goes directly toward campaign efforts, eligible contributors may receive up to 50% of their donation back through the rebate program.

Key Facts About Campaign Donations:

• Minimum donation for rebate eligibility: $100 (in a single contribution).
• Maximum donation to a single campaign: $1,200.
• Maximum total donations across multiple campaigns: $5,000.
• Only individuals who are eligible to vote in Mississauga may receive a rebate.
• Maximum possible rebate: $750.
• Rebates are issued by the City of Mississauga and are expected to be distributed by January 2028.

Only individuals may donate. Contributions cannot be accepted from:

• Corporations
• Trade unions
• Non-residents of Ontario
• Federal or provincial political parties, constituency associations, or registered candidates
• Provincial political parties, constituency associations, or a registered candidate or leadership contestant
• The federal or provincial government
• Municipalities or school boards
