Ward 7 Candidacy
Growing up in a single‑parent home taught me the value of hard work, perseverance, and determination. It also showed me how powerful a helping hand can be. Sometimes, having someone in your corner—someone who genuinely believes in you and wants to see you succeed—can change the entire direction of your life. Those experiences shaped who I am today and inspired my desire to serve others, whether through Joy Bags, through my church, or now, as your City Councillor.
I am running for Mississauga City Councillor for Ward 7 because I want to be a source of support for my community. I want to be deeply engaged with the issues that matter most to the people who call Ward 7 home. My goal is to listen, learn what our community needs, identify where improvements can be made, and work collaboratively to get things done.
Ward 7 deserves a councillor who is approachable, committed, and ready to work. I am prepared to listen, show up, and help build a stronger, safer, and more connected community for everyone.

Role of a City Councillor
A City Councillor is the primary elected representative for their ward at Mississauga City Council. They serve as the direct link between residents and the municipal government, bringing community concerns, ideas, and priorities into the formal decision‑making process. Councillors are elected to four‑year terms and sit on a council of 11 members, including the Mayor. Each Councillor represents the interests of their ward while also participating in city‑wide decisions that affect all of Mississauga.
Decision‑Making & Voting
Councillors vote on by‑laws, budgets, land‑use approvals, city policies, and major capital projects. These decisions influence everything from what gets built in your neighbourhood to how much you pay in property taxes and which services receive funding each year.
Committee Work
Much of a Councillor’s work occurs in committee before it reaches the full council chamber. Mississauga Councillors serve on standing committees such as:
- Budget Committee — oversees how the city allocates public funds.
- General Committee — reviews policies, programs, and city operations.
- Planning and Development Committee — evaluates development applications and land‑use matters.
Councillors may also be appointed to advisory committees focused on areas such as accessibility, road safety, heritage, and anti-racism.
Community Liaison
Beyond formal meetings, a councillor’s role also includes attending community events, meeting with residents and businesses, responding to constituent inquiries, and collaborating with city staff to resolve local issues—from a broken sidewalk to a zoning concern.
WHY I'M RUNNING
Mississauga has given me so much throughout my life, and I believe this is my opportunity to give back in a greater way. I’m running because I believe residents deserve a councillor who is accessible, honest, transparent, and committed to listening before making decisions.
Over the coming months, I’ll be meeting with residents throughout Ward 7 to hear directly about your priorities, concerns, and ideas for the future. These conversations will help shape my focus because I believe the best decisions begin with listening.
As your councillor, I will collaborate with City Council, City staff, residents, businesses, neighbourhood associations, and community organizations to advocate for practical solutions that benefit Ward 7. My commitment is to represent residents with integrity, respect, and accountability.

As Mississauga continues to grow, our roads, parks, transit, and public spaces must keep pace. I will support responsible investments that improve infrastructure and plan for future growth. I will also advocate better coordination of construction projects to minimize disruptions, reduce traffic congestion where possible, and keep residents and businesses informed throughout the process. -
Responsible Budgeting
Residents expect their tax dollars to be managed wisely. I will support transparent decision-making and responsible budgeting that deliver value while protecting essential services. -
Affordable Housing
Housing affordability affects people at every stage of life. I will work with the Council and community partners to support practical solutions that expand housing options while maintaining strong, vibrant neighbourhoods. -
Supporting Local Businesses
Small businesses are essential to our local economy. I will advocate for policies that help businesses grow, reduce unnecessary barriers, and strengthen Ward 7’s commercial areas.
