About Asha
Asha Falinski has proudly called Mississauga home since her elementary school days in Ward 7.
Driven by a commitment to lifelong learning, Asha continued her studies at Sheridan College and later earned a Bachelor of Commerce (BComm) from Nipissing University. Her academic background—combined with years of professional leadership and hands-on community involvement—has equipped her with strong skills in business, finance, and responsible decision-making. These strengths are the ones she is dedicated to bringing to service for the residents of Ward 7.
For Asha, Ward 7 is more than the place she lives—it is the community where she has built her life, formed lasting friendships, supported local initiatives, and invested her time and energy to create a brighter future. Her roots here run deep, and her commitment to this community continues to grow.
Asha loves meeting new people, having genuine conversations, and learning about the experiences that shape each neighbourhood. Whether she’s chatting with restaurant staff, local business owners, or neighbours, Asha sees every interaction as an opportunity to listen, learn, and build stronger community connections.
Asha has built a successful career in telecommunications real estate, contributing to infrastructure projects that keep communities connected and positioned for growth. Her work has included managing complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives and ensuring projects move forward efficiently and responsibly.
Throughout her career, she has collaborated with municipal officials, landlords, consultants, engineers, and business partners—bringing people together to deliver practical, well-balanced solutions. She has extensive experience navigating budgets, timelines, and competing priorities, consistently demonstrating strong leadership, clear communication, and sound judgment.
These professional experiences have strengthened Asha’s problem-solving, strategic planning, and accountability skills. She is ready to bring these skills to City Council to serve Ward 7 with the same dedication and professionalism that have defined her career.

In 2018, she founded Joy Bags, a grassroots outreach initiative she created and continues to fund. Joy Bags provides care packages filled with essential items to individuals experiencing homelessness—and, just as importantly, it offers a reminder that every person is valued, respected, and never forgotten.
What began as one person’s desire to help has grown into a meaningful community effort, reflecting Asha’s belief that even small acts of kindness can create lasting change. Beyond Joy Bags, Asha supports youth programs, volunteers with her church, and is a proud member of the Black Caucus Alliance, using her time and voice to strengthen and uplift her community.
Joy Bags
Joy Bags began with a simple belief: no one in our community should ever feel forgotten, unseen, or unsupported during difficult times. What began as a small act of kindness has grown into a sustained outreach effort, providing practical help and meaningful encouragement to individuals and families in need.
Joy Bags was created out of a deep concern for people quietly struggling—whether due to financial hardship, isolation, or unexpected life challenges. Instead of waiting for larger systems to respond, I wanted to take immediate, personal action. The idea was straightforward: assemble bags filled with essential items, words of encouragement, and genuine care, then deliver them directly to those who need them most.
At its core, Joy Bags is about dignity, compassion, and the reminder that no one is alone. Each bag carries a message of hope and a commitment to showing people that their lives matter.
